FILED IN Something Special No Comments

Easter has been an insanely busy holiday. The staff hasn’t gotten much sleep. We’ve shipped more baskets in a day then we do in many weeks (and even months) in the slower months. And right when we think a break is around the corner, it’s time for Mother’s Day! Everybody wants to give mom something special on her special day, and we’re going to make that super easy this year around…

You see, every customer has their own set of unique needs. Some want recommendations, other need basket ideas, many times that are shipping & payment questions, and you get the point. So when a ton of orders come in all within the same 24-48 hours, you can imagine the phone lines, email messages, and ordering system goes on full blast… things get wild and crazy around this place! But don’t worry, we’ve still got some energy left in us to serve you all for Mother’s Day :-)

Here are somethings you can definitely expect:

  • Lots of fine chocolates
  • New gourmet foods
  • Fresh yummy fruits
  • Variety of different snacks
  • Mother’s Day themed styles
  • Mother’s Day themed baskets

We’ll be launching our collection this weekend, probably later Saturday or early Sunday. We’ll have about 40+ brand new, never before seen, and completely awesome Mothers Day Gift Baskets that mom will absolutely love. Long Time Reader & Easter Has Arrived!

FILED IN Something Special No Comments

Wow, it’s been so long since I’ve blogged. Just the other day I was checking personal email and found this email from one of our readers… I’m going to go ahead and post it below, I asked for permission first:

—————————————————-

Hey Kate,

I was a long time reader of the G.B.P. Blog and noticed you haven’t posted anything in a long time now. I used to enjoy the random blog post about all sorts of different things but it seems like you’ve slowed down on it. I’m sure your busy, but just know you have loyal readers who anxiously await to read what’s up, just wanted to drop you this quick & to the point email. Not sure if it will get to your inbox, but cheers anyways!

Sincerely,

C. Finley

—————————————————-

I was so flattered, thanks C. Finley! I knew many people enjoyed reading from time to time, I would get some kind comments once in a while but getting an email like that has motivated me to do so more often… and ironically, just in time for Easter which is on April 24th, 2011.

We’ve been working hard on our easter gift baskets, I’m confident everyone will love them! Here are some things you can expect this year:

  • Scrumptous fruit
  • Chocolate-covered strawberries
  • Milk chocolate easter eggs
  • Pink and yellow Bunny Peeps

I almost forgot to mention the design themes. This year we truly went all out with some of the cutest, coolest, & most fun Easter themes ever! We tried to have a healthy balance for both kids, teens, and adults alike… you’ll see!

Valentine’s Day, It’s Sooner Then You Think!

FILED IN Something Special 1 Comment

Ahh yes, aren’t we always late for those special holidays. They seem so far away, yet before you know it they come up and you haven’t got a gift ready to go yet. Don’t make that mistake this year, we’re coming out with a brand new collection of Valentines Day Baskets that you won’t want to miss out on.

Our team has spent all of January designing, creating, coming up with ideas, purchasing new gourmet foods, teddy bears, and all sorts of neat stuff to put these beautiful baskets together. Rest assured they won’t be like anything you’ve ever seen over the years and our competitors baskets just won’t be able to match up to these beautiful works of art!

Not only that, we understand the recession is upon us and that’s why we’ve reduced prices without reducing quality. In fact, many on our team have actually increased quantities and qualities of the products included in this year’s collection. We want all our customers to have only the best of the best delivered this year. We guarantee Valentine’s Day delivery on everything purchased by February 4th, so don’t delay & order today!

Mark Cuban & Jeff Foxworthy To Appear On Shark Tank

FILED IN Something Special 11 Comments

I was so sad last year when I heard that Shark Tank may not be coming back for season 2. Sipping on our California wine gift baskets & watching this stuff got addicting! Although it got millions of viewers towards the end it wasn’t as popular as many other shows on ABC. Let’s get real here. The majority of folks don’t like watching business related stuff on television. They would rather fill their head with useless news every night and other junk I can’t figure out why anybody would like watching.

The concept of Shark Tank goes something like this. An entrepreneur has a brilliant idea to create a profitable start-up. Usually they aren’t thinking about profits as Kevin O’leary would say. It’s more of a passion, fun, or gut level decision. Next they throw some money at it (if they have it) and it either works or it doesn’t. If it works they’d like to take things to the next level. If it doesn’t they still need money to make it work. I liked to pop open the Italian food gift baskets, sit back, & relax every Tuesday!

And that’s when these five folks come into the picture:

  1. Daymond John (Founder of FuBu clothing company)
  2. Barbara Corcoran (Real estate mogul in New York)
  3. Kevin Herrington (Pioneer in the infomercial space)
  4. Robert Herjaveck (Technology guru, sold 2 companies)
  5. Kevin O’leary (Exited The Learning Company for billions)

All five of them are qualified to be sitting up there because well they’re rich. Not only that they have years upon years (decades in some cases) of experience. Anyways I loved the show and I’m glad it’s back with two more celebrities – Jeff Foxworthy (comedian) & Mark Cuban (Dallas Mavericks owner). I’m sure they are doing this to beef up the ratings a bit. With Mark’s straight talk, Jeff’s comedy, and the original 5 sharks it’s sure to be a hit. Filming starting a couple days ago and is scheduled to be released in 2011 which is when our new baby shower gift baskets will launch as well – look out for both!

Chic Real Chocolate Covered Strawberries

FILED IN Something Special 9 Comments

We’ve been working really hard behind the scenes (hence limited blogging & tweeting this past week) to get ready for the holidays. One of the cool things we’re introducing are delicious strawberries covered with genuine chocolate. Now if you’ve never had these, they are a must try. Everyone in the office is going nuts and eating them up like they are going out of style.

Now what’s unique about these is that the chocolate is REAL. Meaning, usually when you order something like this the chocolate is artificially created because it has to be shipped cross country. It has the taste, texture, and creation of how cocoa is supposed to be but it doesn’t give you that same warm and fuzzy taste! Many of these will also come with the romantic gift baskets collection.

On the flip side we’ve made sure that these are going to have the good stuff. And in order to do that we’re going to be only using overnight and 2nd day shipping to get these delivered to all our customers. If it got there any later then 48 hours, it’s as good as never shipping it out in the first place. I’m sure you’ll love these because not only do they taste amazing beyond belief but come in fashionable boxes!

Our product sourcing team keeps getting request to do other specialties such as custom greeting cards for our sympathy gift baskets and balloon deliveries to top off our thank you gift baskets – we’re on top of things and making sure we continue to bring our visitors fresh new items!

Why I Think Apple Is Worth Over $250 Billion

FILED IN Something Special No Comments

I’ve been a computer nerd all my life, there I said it! Not too many people are proud of that, but I’ll be the first to say I love everything technology and it doesn’t stop at computers. Phones, television sets, mp3 players, video recorders, cameras, GPS devices, home theaters, ahh I could go on forever but the point is I’ve loved gadgets all my life.

Now the interesting thing is I had heard of Apple but never used any of their products. Mainly because no one I knew used them and I had grown up with a PC. In fact, I got my first computer when I was only seven years old from my uncle for no other reason then he was a nice guy. That’s a story for another time!

So a few years ago my mother surprised me with my very own Macbook Pro. As soon as I turned it on I was in love all over again. It felt like it had been made just for me. It was so sexy, smooth, and effortless. It didn’t require me to think or go the extra mile for anything. The speeds were beyond imaginable, no extra software, and all ready to go within 13 seconds.

But is that why I they are doing so well? Possibly. The real reason for Apple’s success in my opinion is how they treat their customers. One word comes to mind: SPECIAL. I was at the Genius Bar today and the person I was working with treated me like I was Steve Jobs himself! Took care of everything, threw in a free pair of headphones, gave me some valuable tips, and answered every question I had with such class.

Although we aren’t worth $250 billion and don’t have the following Apple has, we also try to things that make our customers feel special. For example, when a customer has been very loyal to us we’ll send them one of our thank you gift baskets exactly one year after their recent purchase. When someone sends one of our sympathy gift baskets they also receive a card four weeks later, free of charge. We’re always sending out coupons, discounts, and all sorts of other freebies to do our part in making you feel good!

Say Get Well Soon With Class & Style

FILED IN Something Special 5 Comments

Do you see the irony of the title and picture above? If not, let me explain. Sending someone a balloon when they are down is not a way to bring them up. Although it may seem like the right thing to do, it’s more of an accessory that makes the outfit better, but it isn’t the outfit itself. You see, everyone expects to receive things like balloons and flowers at times like this. They are far from new, classy, or stylish – and on the other hand are very close to traditional, boring, and certain.

Next time send a get well gift basket to show that you actually put some time, effort, and energy into selecting a present. If not, you’ll look like you stopped by Wal-Mart on your way over because you totally forgot about what you’re going to get! That’s not a great impression you want to leave with, right?

Not only do they show effort with sympathy gift baskets and say thanks with thank you gift baskets like you mean it, they actually work! Don’t believe me? Picture this…

You’re laying in bed sick and tired because it’s flu season. It’s obvious that you’re friends and family are going to come over after work to say hi and support you. What’s even more obvious is that they are going to bring you traditional gifts. Things such as a cake, flowers, and balloon. It’s predictable and you have absolutely nothing to look forward to.

But when they show up, it’s the exact opposite! They have brought you gift baskets with all sorts of yummy munchies inside for you to snack on, with a personalized card inside. And to really top things off they didn’t forget the cake, flowers, and balloons. See what a different going the extra mile makes?
